The term "life sciences" covers a lot of ground, and KGI students have very diverse interests within the sector-regulatory, medical devices, marketing. The list goes on. But one thing most seem to agree is that 3D printing is on the brink of revolutionizing the biotech industry (and many others, in fact).
The US Patent and Trademark Office recently issued a foundational patent to KGI spin-off enterprise Claremont BioSolutions for its SimplePrepTM micromotor‐based rapid sample preparation technology.
Bill Rich, Vice President, International Supply Chain, Amgen will be discussing how drug shortages are becoming more common, and how it is our responsibility to ensure supply to patients. He will also discuss the need to fortify the supply chain to reduce or present shortages.
This year, seven teams of KGI MBS and PPM students will be presenting detailed business plans for proposed startup companies to commercialize science from universities and other research institutes, including BioFactory, Caltech, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, KGI and UC Merced. This event marks the culmination of entrepreneurial activities at KGI for the 2013-2014 academic year.
This will be a public, non-confidential presentation of all Team Master's Projects.
