Dr. Kelly Esperias (she/her) is an accomplished professional who spearheads strategic initiatives to foster an optimal operational environment for students, faculty, and employees to excel. With a profound comprehension of and steadfast dedication to innovation at KGI, she brings a wealth of experience in enhancing business processes to attain academic and business objectives in alignment with the institute’s strategic plan. As the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, Dr. Esperias adeptly aligns resources with institutional priorities to meet the diverse needs of the KGI community through collaborative partnerships, inventive solutions, and continuous improvement. She collaborates closely with stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge, resilient operational and communication strategies that support campus-wide priorities.
Before assuming her current role, Dr. Esperias held the position of Vice President of Institutional Development and Partnerships at KGI. She provided visionary leadership, strategic oversight, and comprehensive management of fundraising, marketing, communications, corporate partnerships, and presidential initiatives in this capacity.
Drawing from her extensive background in education administration, Dr. Esperias began her career as the Senior Manager of Operations at Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), where she played a pivotal role in planning, marketing, and managing operations for some of the nation’s most significant sports and entertainment events. Her portfolio included working closely with esteemed sports teams such as the LA Lakers, LA Clippers, LA Kings, LA Avengers, LA Sparks, LA Angels, and LA Galaxy.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Esperias serves as a national officer for Sigma Kappa Sorority, where she actively supports and empowers young women in leadership positions at universities nationwide.
In addition to her executive responsibilities, Dr. Esperias holds adjunct faculty positions at Cal Poly Pomona and KGI, where she imparts her expertise to students. She holds a Doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California, a Master of Business Administration from the University of La Verne, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona. With her commitment to ongoing professional development, Dr. Esperias has obtained certifications as a Fundraising Executive and completed specialized programs in Non-Profit Board Management and Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Notre Dame.
