Bernie Kury is former Vice President and General Counsel of Guidant Corporation where he helped guide the merger of Guidant into Boston Scientific Corporation. This $27 billion transaction is the largest M & A transaction ever completed in the U.S. medical device industry. Formerly, he was a Partner at Dewey Ballantine LLP, a New York City-based law firm where he worked for 41 years. At Dewey Ballantine, he specialized in M & A, corporate/securities and venture capital matters. He was included in Euromoney's 1996 Guide to the World's Leading M & A Lawyers. He earned his undergraduate degree, with honors, from Princeton University and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
