Martha E. Vincent, PhD, FACCP
Martha Vincent joined Agensys in 2004 as its first member of the Development organization responsible for early clinical development including toxicology, IND filing, Phase 1, and Phase 2 proof of concept studies. Her responsibilities have included all strategic and supportive functions of clinical operations, safety, clinical data management, clinical quality assurance and biostatistics.
Vincent joined Agensys from Amgen, where she served in a number of capacities over a period of 17 years. She served as Vice President, Medical Affairs, leading the design and execution of all non-registrational clinical programs for marketed products in multiple therapeutic areas including, nephrology, oncology and inflammation. Her Medical Affairs responsibilities encompassed Medical Operations, Pharmacoeconomics, Biostatistics and Data Warehousing, Safety, Medical Writing, Outsourcing and Contract Management. Prior to that, Vincent served as Vice President, Clinical Development, and in that capacity her responsibilities included worldwide oversight of the Clinical Development Department where she led the design and execution of all registrational clinical programs, generated registrational data from Phase 1—3, and was responsible for the approvals of Neupogen, Infergen and Stemgen. She led all the development teams that conducted international registrations and filed multiple simultaneous submissions for Amgen's products.
Prior to Amgen, Vincent served as Director, Cardiovascular Clinical Research for Schering Corporation. She has also held positions with AYERST, a division of American Home Products, and with New Jersey Medical School, Department of Pharmacology.
She serves on several non-profit boards and is a member of numerous professional groups. She is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology and has received several awards including the Israel Cancer Research Fund Award — Women of Achievement and Leadership America. Vincent received a BSc in biology and education from Iowa State University, and a PhD in pharmacology from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She did her postdoctoral work at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. She has authored more than 40 scientific publications in major journals.
