Weinberg was chair emeritus of the Board of Trustees of Keck Graduate Institute. He was also senior director for The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. He was a trustee emeritus of Scripps College, a senior trustee of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, a life trustee of New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and life trustee of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. He also served as a director/trustee of numerous industrial companies and educational foundations.
In 2007, he was awarded Doctorate of Applied Life Sciences, honoris causa, from Keck Graduate Institute.
