Dr. Rastetter is Chairman of the Board of Directors, Illumina. He is a Partner of Venrock, Chairman, Board of Directors, Receptos, Inc., and Chairman, Board of Directors, Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. He is Chairman and CEO of Fate Therapeutics, Inc. Formerly, he was Executive Chairman of Biogen Idec and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, IDEC Pharmaceuticals Corporation. He received a B.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
