Career Focus Tracks
Coursework during the second year of the MBS curriculum allows students to achieve depth in an area that closely follows a specific industry career path. KGI's career focus tracks provide in-depth knowledge of specific functional areas of the bioscience industry. Each specialized program offers participation in real-world industry experiences and interaction with industry leaders coupled with a cutting-edge curriculum taught by faculty with extensive industry experience.
Bioprocessing
Students in the Bioprocessing focus area will obtain a thorough understanding of industrial processes from early-stage development through large-scale manufacture. Career options for graduates in this field include the following: Bioprocess Engineering, Process Development, Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance/Compliance, Regulatory Affairs (cGMP), Environmental Remediation, Food Technology, Development and Manufacture of Gene Therapy Vectors and Vaccines, Development and Production of Renewable Biofuels and New Enterprise Development. more
Business of Bioscience
The Business of Bioscience focus track will enable students to identify business opportunities in life science industries and to analyze the associated market, management, technological and ethical issues. Entrepreneurship and the integration of business and technology are strongly emphasized; students have multiple opportunities to analyze the commercial potential of intellectual property arising from scientific discovery. This Business focus track helps prepare students for careers in business development, market research, competitive intelligence analysis, consulting, strategic planning and sales & marketing. more
Clinical and Regulatory Affairs
The Clinical and Regulatory Affairs focus track provides an understanding of how the FDA and its international counterparts regulate the development of novel products including assessment of product quality, non-clinical and clinical evaluation. Career options include: Consulting, Clinical Research Organizations (CRO), Clinical Trial Monitoring and Management Compliance, Product Development, Product Management, Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Regulatory Intelligence. more
