Frequently Asked Questions
Must I have previously applied to medical school/submitted an AMCAS application to apply to the Special Masters Program?
No. We are interested in those who have applied as well as those who have taken the majority of their premedical requirements but have yet to apply.
Who is eligible for the program?
Applicants who have obtained either an undergraduate or graduate degree in a science or engineering field preferably with some experience relevant to medical school application and who are sure that a career in medicine is their next step.
Will I be permitted to repeat science classes I have already taken/Do you permit students to re-take science courses?
Our program is small and each student will be advised as to the best set of courses for their unique situation. At times it may be necessary for a student to repeat an undergraduate prerequisite course or two as needed. You will work with the Administrative Director to create your schedule of courses to best position yourself for admissions to medical school.
Are there separate course sections for premedical certificate students?
Your curriculum will be made up of the courses taught at both the graduate MBS program as well as possibly taking courses through one of the other Claremont Colleges. Click here for a sample of the curriculum.
