No. We are interested in those who have applied as well as those who have taken the majority of their premedical requirements but have yet to apply.

Applicants who have obtained either an undergraduate or graduate degree in a science or engineering field preferably with some experience relevant to medical school application and who are sure that a career in medicine is their next step.

Our program is small and each student will be advised as to the best set of courses for their unique situation. At times it may be necessary for a student to repeat an undergraduate prerequisite course or two as needed. You will work with the Administrative Director to create your schedule of courses to best position yourself for admissions to medical school.

Your curriculum will be made up of the courses taught at both the graduate MBS program as well as possibly taking courses through one of the other Claremont Colleges. Click here for a sample of the curriculum.

• An undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited four-year institution in an Engineering or Science Field.
• A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.25
• GRE scores in the 70th percentile or higher for the Verbal and Quantative scores, or MCAT scores 26 or higher with no one score lower than an 8.
• Two letters of reference from those professionally qualified to recommend you.
• Volunteer or work experience in the medical field or medical/scientific research is highly desirable.

The program can be completed full-time in 9-12 months.

We work on a rolling admissions basis and begin reviewing applications as soon as they are complete. Once your application is complete it is evaluated for an interview.

You are required to submit two letters of evaluation. We suggest that one letter be from one of your science faculty members and the other letter should be from a supervisor in a healthcare related field within which you have done research or clinical volunteering.

No it is not necessary to have taken the MCAT prior to applying to KGI. We also accept a standard GRE score. Please note that one of these standardized tests is required to complete your application.

For the GRE, please contact ETS and follow their instructions to have scores sent to KGI. For the MCAT, you likely have a copy of your results. Please send those to KGI. (KGI school code #4166)

KGI has just begun its PPC program so useful statistics will not be available for some time. We have had several students successfully matriculate from completing our MBS program to medical school. We expect the graduates of our PPC program to be equally successful.

Cohort size will depend upon the number and quality of applicants applying. Postbac students will be taking classes with the Masters of Biosciences and Postdoctoral Professional Masters of Bioscience Management students. KGI's goal is to provide an exceptional learning experience, combined with the important support services necessary to help insure very high medical school placement rates.

We expect students to range in age from 22 to 35.

Students generally do volunteer work on the average of 4-6 hours per week but working while in the program is not advised.

Federally guaranteed loans are available to qualified individuals enrolled in the KGI program. The Financial Aid Office provides individual financial aid counseling and assistance in completing loan applications.
