The program will help you acquire the business and management skills needed to pursue senior management positions in the life sciences industry or embark upon entrepreneurial ventures intended to commercialize technologies developed in laboratories. This program is designed to teach business and management skills not usually included in PhD training, but important to those pursuing careers in industry.

Graduates will be equipped to pursue careers in Bioprocessing, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, the Business of Bioscience, Medical Devices and Diagnostics, and Pharmaceutical Discovery and Development, for example. A sample of roles includes Research and Development Scientist, Project Manager, Regulatory Affairs Liaison, and Consultant.

Full-time students matriculating in the fall complete the program in nine months and may pursue a paid industry internship during the summer following graduation. Students matriculating in the spring complete the program in 12 months, with a summer internship between the spring and fall semesters.

Yes, part-time study options are available. Part-time students can complete the program in as little as two years.

No, students attend all courses on campus.

KGI is located in Claremont, CA - just 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The KGI campus is within easy walking distance to excellent restaurants, movies, shopping and banking. For directions to KGI visit Maps and Directions.

PPM students will benefit from KGI's extensive industry connections that provide exposure to careers in research & development and business management in the life sciences industry. Program participants are partnered with an industry mentor for the duration of their program. Students also have access to the Office of Career Services, as well as career fairs, networking events, and professional development.

As a PPM student you will participate in an industry-sponsored Team Masters Project, gaining hands-on team experience. Furthermore, students participating in the 12 month program complete an industry internship during the summer. Students in the nine month and part-time programs are also highly encouraged to complete an internship.

US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for federal student loans. International students may apply for a KGI International Student Loan to cover tuition expenses. KGI loans do not require a cosigner. To find more about financial aid, please visit the financial aid page.

Yes, we encourage international students to apply. F and J visas can be transferred to KGI, even if you are already in an Optional Practical Training period. H1-B visa holders are able to pursue coursework either full-time or part-time, but must remain fully employed to retain H1 status. In this case, we recommend part-time study.
