Summer Programs at KGI
Summer is the time to seek opportunity to bolster one's academic career. KGI offers several unique summer programs tailored to suit undergraduate, pre-health and post-doc students. Participants get a preview of KGI's advanced degrees (Master of Bioscience, Doctor of Pharmacy, Postbaccalaureate Premedical Certificate, Master of Engineering or Postdoctoral Professional Masters), while deciding a future career in the life sciences industry. These summer programs are a great way to improve qualifications, gain exposure to the biotechnology, medicine, life sciences and pharmaceutical industries and learn a unique set of skills that will optimize a resume.
Upper Level Undergraduate science courses that will be offered in the summer include: Human Anatomy with a Virtual 3D anatomy Lab; Human Physiology with Lab; Microbiology with Lab and Biochemistry. These courses are open to all undergraduate students seeking careers in Healthcare and/or the Sciences. These courses fulfill the pre-requisite requirements for entrance into KGI's School of Pharmacy.

All online course materials for Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology will be available on June 13, 2016.
Students taking Anatomy and Physiology are required to attend Lab on Saturday on campus beginning June 18 2016.
Students taking Biochemistry are required to attend a discussion session live on campus or via distance technology on Thursdays beginning June 16, 2016.
Students enrolled in Microbiology are expected to be on campus on designated weekdays beginning the week of June 13th for all lecture and laboratory activities.
The SURE program for undergraduate research in biotechnology and bioengineering provides undergraduate students the opportunity for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research in the areas of applied molecular and cellular biology, bioengineering, computational biology, as well as exposure to related ethics and business topics.
Program dates: June 6 to August 12, 2016
A week-long course offered by The American Society for Cell Biology and Keck Graduate Institute. The course will introduce PhD scientists to the competencies they need to thrive in industry and will expose them to the culture and infrastructure of life sciences companies through MBA-style case-based teaching, professional development workshops, and a team-based project.

Explore MED is a two-week residential program of classroom and experiential learning to help students investigate what it means to be "premed". The program is best geared for undergraduate sophomores and juniors, but it's beneficial for anyone contemplating a career in healthcare. The program also benefits those applying to graduate programs and seek highly personalized advising and support.
