Timeline of the review process:
We will review applications and will fill positions with qualified applicants on a rolling basis. We take a holistic look at each applicant, and place great importance on letters of recommendation and your personal statement. Your rating does not solely depend on your GPA! Technical skills/previous research are beneficial but not a pre-requisite. After initial review, suitable applications are handed to the respective faculty members responsible for individual research projects, who will ultimately decide which student gets the offer. The "match making" is based on the student's skills and preferences as expressed in the application form. If you are considered for a position, you will be contacted to schedule a phone interview with either the faculty mentor or the SURE program director, who can also provide further details about the program. We will strive to notify you about the status of your application as soon as possible, and anticipate filling all available positions by mid May.
Housing may be available at local dorms for the summer. In addition, apartments may be available for sublease for the summer. Please contact admissions[at symbol]kgi.edu for more information.
