Business of Bioscience Student Spotlight - Sana Moosa

This spotlight is on Business of Bioscience graduate student Sana Moosa who finished her undergraduate studies in Biology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.  Sana graduated with honors in less than 2 years and came directly to KGI eager to start her career in biotech industry.  Sana’s focus track is of course Business of Bioscience because she believes that,

“It will help me offer much more in the workplace after graduating from KGI.”

Sana did her internship with Life Technologies in beautiful Carlsbad, California where her office opened to warm, sunny beaches.  Over the course of 12 weeks, Sana developed her analytical skills, learned complex model-making tools in Excel as well as enhanced her Biotech industry network.  Her responsibilities included conducting competitive SWOT analyzes on the capabilities and price structures of all competitors within each of Life Technologies’ top services.  She also constructed an excel-based tool for future analysis.

Sana just recently completed her TMP with Beckman Coulter where she helped develop a commercialization and launch plan for Beckman Coulter’s next generation product.  She guided team discussions and decision making as well as facilitated group collaboration.  Sana developed her project management and presentation skills throughout the entire project.

Upon graduating, Sana will start her consulting career with Campbell Alliance.  Her duties will include but are not limited to: performing market research, client management, and developing product strategies.  What is the BEST thing about this job?

“Traveling and meeting new people, I get to work one-on-one with clients that are sometimes VPs and CEOs of life science companies as well as work to solve some major challenges in the life science industry.”
