KGI & FDA Orphan Drug Workshop in WSJ

As you may already know, Keck Graduate Institute hosted the first FDA workshop to help pharmaceutical companies and research institutions explore orphan-drug discovery and development strategies and regulatory advice.   This workshop is featured in the Wall Street Journal and serves as an example of the interaction between business and science that flows throughout the KGI curriculum.  Profitability versus treatments for patients with rare diseases remains one of the top challenges of the biotech industry and one of the hottest bioethics debate in the biotech industry.  Students work on real-life projects throughout the year dealing with problems that go beyond traditional science and business borders to drive innovative solutions to problems that are prevalent in the biotech industry today.  Read about the FDA workshop in the WSJ here.
