Welcome to KGI Bioprocessing
Our innovative masters, research and industry professionals training programs are developed to give you unparalleled opportunity to learn from some of the world's best academic and bioprocess industry practitioners. The new Master of Engineering (MEng) in Biopharmaceutical Processing is designed for students seeking technical careers in the biopharmaceutical industry while the Master of Biosciences (MBS) with Bioprocessing Major is intended for students interested in careers in operation, supply chain and other support services in the bioindustry. Our industry professionals training (BPAT) program is a series of 2 ½ day long courses that can be taken individually or in combination over time to build towards a master level qualification in bioprocessing. Our innovative research program leading to the award of PhD in Bioprocessing is fully sponsored by industry through the Bioprocessing Corporate Awards Student Training (CAST) initiative.
There is much that KGI Bioprocessing can offer as you plan your career. We hope you will browse through our website and contact us if you would like to learn more.

What is Bioprocessing?
Over the past decade there has been an increase in demand for highly skilled workforce within the biotechnology industries. In the healthcare sector, for example, this is caused by a shift from traditional pharmaceutical to biopharmaceutical medicines.
According to Nature America (2013, Careers and Recruitment) there is now a substantial need and exceptional demand for scientists and engineers with specialized or advanced degrees to manage complex biological process scale-up. Bioprocessing is the discipline that holistically combines all the components necessary to translate life science discoveries into commercial products. These components include bioproduct and bioprocess research, development and design, bioprocess modeling and scale up/scale-down, process transfer to biomanufacturing and operations, validation, quality and CMC regulatory as well as business and process economics.
