John D. Gerace
John Gerace currently leads the PCR instrument and reagent business within Life Technologies' Molecular Biology Systems (MBS) Division. Prior to joining Applied Biosystems in June of 2007, Gerace held several sales, marketing and corporate business development leadership roles at Beckman Coulter from 1993-2007. During this time, he led regional Marketing for the Americas and Global Strategic Marketing for Life Science Automation. He also was appointed President and General Manager of a joint venture between Beckman Coulter and Affymetrix. Prior to Beckman Coulter, Gerace was a research chemist at Allergan Medical Optics from 1987-1993 where he was principle inventor on four US patents.
He received Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry and biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine with distinction and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University focused in marketing and operations management. For the past four years, Gerace has been serving as a board member of the Iacocca Foundation - a non-profit organization with the objective of accelerating the discovery of a cure for Type-1 Diabetes.
