Finance and Management for Scientists
The goal of this class is to provide life science company research-and-development personnel with a framework of key business concepts that can enhance their managerial skills. Topics will focus on life science financial and managerial issues, and will include financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, capital investment, financial strategy, decision making under uncertainty, project management, operations management, and more.
Format: One day class with group exercises and finance/financial statement examples.
Business issues: As they rise through the ranks, scientists are called upon to manage business and people issues for which they have no formal training.
Who should attend? Individual contributors and managers from research and development areas.
