Moonkyung Kate Choi, PhDAdjunct Professor
Prior to joining KGI, Dr. Choi did postdoctoral studies in the Department of Health Services at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She received a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Riverside and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
This course provides a brief introduction to how economic principles explain the allocation of resources in the healthcare system. This will include both general principles and recent efforts (both successful and failed) at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.

Her research interest is on various health issues. Her current research focuses on the role of health insurance in health service utilization and health outcomes, the effectiveness of medical care on health outcomes, and competition among hospitals.
