4th Annual KGI Research Retreat
The fourth annual KGI Research Retreat is scheduled for Friday, January 18, from 9 a.m. to 3:30pm. The event is open to the KGI research community, outside collaborators, as well as other participants from academia and industry who would like to learn more about ongoing research efforts. Ian Phillips, Norris professor of applied life sciences and director of the Center for Rare Disease Therapies, will give a talk on the role of micro-RNAs in biological systems and human disease. Joel West, professor, innovation & entrepreneurship, will discuss how open innovation is changing the life sciences. A range of ongoing research projects in biomarker discovery, rare disease research, bioprocessing, medical diagnostics/devices and bioscience business will be presented during a two-hour poster session. The retreat will also include opportunities to break into small groups to share ideas, brainstorm and discuss opportunities for future collaboration.
