Guest Lecture by Thomas Girke,Ph.D. Director of Bioinformatics IIGB UC Riverside
Dr. Thomas Girke (Director, Bioinformatics Core from the Institute for Integrative Genome Biology, UC Riverside) will be visiting KGI as a guest speaker for ALS 311 - Information Management for the Life Sciences.
Dr. Girke research interests focus on computational approaches and method development in the areas of comparative genomics, next generation sequence analysis and cheminformatics. This includes discovery-oriented data mining projects, and tool development projects for novel algorithms and software environments for scientific data analysis. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Hamburg, Germany, and a Postdoctorate from Michigan State University.
