Death and Expression—a fresh look at genomic robustness
Research Colloquium Series
Many genes in an organism’s genome are essential for survival, such that a mutation in any one of these essential genes causes death. Might there be alternate genetic pathways by which the absolute dependence of a cell’s survival on the normal function of these essential genes could be bypassed? Professor Animesh Ray's experiments show this to be true. He will discuss these results and their significance to cancer research.
Lunch will be provided.
