MSGC Board of Advisors
The KGI Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling Board of Advisors represents genetic counseling educators and health care industry professionals. The Board of Advisors provides input on current standards and emerging trends in practice and industry, acts as a liaison between program development and actual practice, suggests ways to achieve stated goals, assists in identifying internship and employment opportunities, and gives feedback on the effectiveness and success of activities related to program goals.
The Board of Advisors meets at least once per year. Members are nominated by MSGC leadership. Members are approved by the Program Director to serve an initial two or three-year term with a renewable three-year term.
Additionally, the Board of Advisors will:
- Support the Mission of the Program
- Support continuous improvement, growth, and development
- Provide ongoing assessment of clinical and didactic curriculum
- Be knowledgeable about needs in health care, biotechnology, and future direction of Genetic Counseling and anticipate how the Program can help fulfill those needs
- Make recommendations to program leadership
- Support the goal of increasing Program resources, financial, etc
- Promote Program as a resource
