Angelika Niemz, PhD

Dr. Niemz received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Konstanz in Germany, and her PhD in biological chemistry from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Before coming to KGI, Dr. Niemz was a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology. Her current research focuses on creating templated nanoarrays of DNA-functionalized colloids and single proteins, for use as nanoscopic biosensors. In addition, her lab is developing functional protein microarrays for system-wide investigation of enzymatic activities, as well as new bioassays for diagnostic applications.
