KGI Seminar Series

Keck Graduate Institute, ComputationalBiology on the Edge Seminar Series

For this, the main KGI seminar series, distinguished invited speakers as well as KGI faculty present their research in cutting-edge fields of molecular, cellular, systems, and evolutionary biology, as well as biotechnology. These seminars should be accessible to a wide audience, and highlight significant developments that have the potential to affect the life sciences of the future, both on a fundamental and an applied level.

Computational Biology Seminar Series

In the computational biology seminar series, invited speakers and KGI faculty, postdocs, and occasionally, students will discuss their work. The focus of this series is aligned with current research interests at KGI, which center on modern ideas in systems and evolutionary biology, as well as bioinformatics, spanning the scale from single molecules to communities. Special emphasis is placed on computational methods for studying functional gene/protein modules. A website is maintained to keep track of the schedule and store material related to each seminar, including video and presentation slides at http://compbio.kgi.edu

Current Excitement in Life Sciences and Biotechnology (CELSB)
PhD students and other internal speakers talk about recent research occuring elsewhere.

Industrial Stength Biology Seminar Series
KGI's Corporate Partnerships Office organizes a seminar series that features leaders from the bioscience industry. They provide insights about their companies, and glimpses of developments in fields such as protein research, microfluidics engineering, drug development commercialization and much more.
