MBS-PhD of Applied Life Sciences Admission Information Who Can Apply? Only those students who have completed the MBS program from Keck Graduate Institute are eligible for admission to the PhD in Applied Life Sciences. How to Apply Students interested in applying to the MBS-PhD in Applied Life Sciences MUST first make an inquiry with the Director of PhD programs, Dr. Animesh Ray at aray@kgi.edu or call (909) 607- 9729 to make an appointment. ALL students must have the approval of the Director of PhD programs BEFORE submitting a formal application. Admission Requirements
Application Form Download a printable version of the application and mail it to: Keck Graduate Institute Office of Admissions 535 Watson Drive Claremont, CA 91711 Attn: PhD Admissions Application Fee Our non-refundable application fee is $75. A check payable to Keck Graduate Institute must accompany your application. Please be sure your name appears on the check. Letters of Recommendation Request a letter of endorsement from your proposed thesis advisor. The letter should specifically address the advisor's ability to provide financial support towards the degree. Please request two additional letters. If you are a current KGI student, please request an additional letter from one other KGI faculty member. If you are an MBS graduate, please request a letter from an industry supervisor. The final letter should be from another person who can comment on your potential to effectively carry out independent research leading to a PhD degree. Personal Statement The personal statement gives you an opportunity to describe your academic, career, and personal objectives. Please use the statement to outline the basis of your interest in KGI's program, to demonstrate your potential for making research contributions in the biosciences, and to bring to the attention of the Admissions Committee other significant matters. Please limit your response to the equivalent of two double-spaced typewritten pages. Supplemental Materials You may send additional supporting documents with your application. However, they will not be returned unless you include a self-addressed postage-paid envelope.
