Senior Marketing Manager, Sagent Pharmaceuticals (4/10/08) Position Summary: This is an excellent opportunity for career development and to work in a team-based environment. The Senior Marketing Manager will lead, plan, direct, and coordinate all product launches and marketing of our products by performing the following duties personally or with the assistance of the Marketing team. Primary responsibilities include; identify and execute product marketing strategy for portfolio of products. Development & execution of product and marketing strategy: based on market analysis, needs analyses, competitive evaluations, corporate requirements and financial evaluations. Duties & Responsibilities: - Responsible for product line marketing activities inclusive of establishing & assuring the successful execution of pricing strategies, competitive analysis, promotional programs, market research requirements and strategic publication plans.
- Develop product marketing materials, including sales presentations, product brochures, data sheets, and training materials.
- Ensures all marketing programs are communicated, and implemented across the U.S.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of competitive issues and offerings, communicates competitive information within the organization. Analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to maximize market opportunities and minimize the impact of competitor activity.
- Develops and executes strategic and annual marketing plans for new and existing products to meet assigned marketing and business objectives.
- Develop and implement effective training programs and materials necessary for successful product launches.
- Assist with forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the product line, and driving projects and promotions to achieve our business objectives.
- Develops and executes portfolio product marketing strategies to achieve stated revenue, profitability and market share objectives.
- Plan and implement product campaign strategies and programs, including market analysis, segmentation, channel programs, and competitive positioning.
- Plan and oversee the organization's overall advertising and promotional plan. This includes the development and execution of sales collateral, educational material, media and direct mail, both electronic and print. Works with marketing department personnel and advertising agency to design and implement most effective product positioning, creative content, and deliverables to support budget goals and growth expectations. Works with PR agency to PR execute strategy and ensure media coverage.
- Manages non-supervisory marketing staff. Is responsible for the overall direction, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of marketing team members. Responsibilities also include mentoring employees; developing them for growth opportunities and helping them achieve individual career goals.
- Mentor and develop other marketing professionals.
- Establishes consistent positioning/branding image throughout product lines, promotional materials and events.
- Drives the product marketing message through all communication channels by partnering with internal and external communication resources and functions.
- Incorporates product data-driven analysis to support decisions and comprehensive understanding of business and market issues.
- Plans and updates content for the company web site, to communicate company’s products and value proposition to our customer base and the investment community. Track and analyze usage of website visitors.
- Interacts with and develops relations with key customers along with the Sales team to stay current with market drivers and customer’s needs. Communicates this information to senior management and across the organization as appropriate.
- Uses Business Intelligence to evaluate trends in assigned segments or new markets to determine segment penetration opportunities and strategies.
- Analyzing competitor offerings to identify feature differences and determining an appropriate course of action
- Publishing competitive briefings and guidelines on how to compete with specific competitors to the sales force
- Lead liaison with field sales management, pharmacists, nurses, buyers, and patients to validate, deliver and evaluate marketing strategies and programs.
- Provides marketing support at conventions, client meetings, workshops, and other specific marketing functions.
- Develop channel partner support programs including go-to-market and product workshops, sales training (train the trainer), collateral and POS materials. Conduct on-site workshops at channel partner locations.
- Help establish pricing for a product line
- Serve as the "product expert” for product management, marketing, sales, project management, business development, partners, and technology teams as needed.
Education & Qualifications: - Bachelors degree (business or marketing preferred) MBA desired
- The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of progressively responsible marketing management experience in pharmaceutical and/or medical products.
- Background in healthcare products or medical devices highly preferred.
- Candidates who thrive in a fast paced environment and have experience working in high growth companies would be an excellent fit for this role.
