Professor Nadim has joint appointments at Keck Graduate Institute and the School of Mathematical Sciences at Claremont Graduate University. He teaches courses on microfluidics and bioengineering as well as computational and applied mathematics. His research focus is on microfluidics and microscale transport phenomena; he uses analytical, computational, and experimental methods to carry out both fundamental and applied studies in microfluidics, electrowetting, electrokinetics, complex fluid dynamics, and biotransport phenomena. Dr. Nadim earned his undergraduate degree from UC Davis, graduating summa cum laude, and his PhD in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. While an assistant professor of applied mathematics at MIT, he received the Science Council Prize of Excellence in Teaching Undergraduates. Prior to joining The Claremont Colleges, he was an associate professor of aerospace and mechanical engineering at Boston University. Professor Nadim co-directs the Microfluidics Research Lab at KGI with Professor James Sterling.
