What first got you interested in your field of choice?

After graduating from high school, my first job at CVS pharmacy provided me with the opportunity to work as a clerk while occasionally assisting in the pharmacy. During this time, I discovered a strong inclination to pursue a career in pharmacy, as I connected with pharmacists, developed a curiosity about the mechanisms of medications, and recognized the crucial role pharmacists play in communities. Witnessing a significant lack of understanding among many patients regarding their medications further emphasized the need for competent pharmacists. What truly fuels my passion is the gratification derived from assisting patients, educating them about their medications, and ensuring they receive the quality care they deserve.

What type of obstacles have you had to overcome on the road to getting your education?

Throughout my journey to becoming a P4 pharmacy student, I have encountered numerous obstacles that have shaped my resilience and determination. As a second-generation individual with parents who had limited English language proficiency and lacked guidance in the American education system, I faced the absence of a familial educational precedent. Nevertheless, my unwavering passion for education remained steadfast, driving me to seek support and guidance from counselors, pharmacists, and friends who believed in and assisted me on my path. Despite initially enrolling in a pharmacy program that lost its accreditation after a year, an unprecedented experience for me, I refused to be deterred. I proactively sought out alternative educational opportunities, reaching out to various schools, ultimately leading me to secure admission at KGI. Now, looking back after three years, I am profoundly grateful for my perseverance and resilience, as they have enabled me to overcome these challenges and continue progressing towards my goals.

How did you know that KGI was the right school for you?

I found KGI to be the ideal institution for me due to the exceptional level of kindness, care, and support they extended to me during the challenging process of finding a new school. Despite the difficulties I faced, KGI exhibited the courage to offer me an opportunity. Joining the program on short notice, I discovered a distinctive aspect of KGI: their provision of customizable certificates that allow students to tailor their learning experience according to their interests and goals. This unique feature further solidifies KGI's appeal and sets it apart from other pharmacy educational institutions.

Why did you want to become an Admissions Ambassador?

Becoming a student ambassador for KGI as a pharmacy student offers valuable networking opportunities, enhances leadership skills, and promotes personal and professional growth.
