Tell us about an experience you’ve had outside of class (an internship, research project, publication, etc.).

I am currently involved in an independent research project with Dr. Kiana Aran's company, NanoSens. As a graduate student consultant, my team members and I analyze the potential of CRISPR/Cas enzyme technology as we determine unmet market needs and potential product placement for NanoSens' innovative technology.

What's one thing at KGI that no student should miss or what advice do you have for incoming students?

My advice for incoming students is to be open and step outside their comfort zone. As you attend KGI, you realize that you are interacting with people from different backgrounds and it is interesting to see how you can connect with people from all of the country/world! Also, everyone should take ALS 320!

Where is your favorite spot at KGI or in Claremont and why?

My favorite spot at KGI is building 215 because that is where Professor Casper's office is. The man is a biotech encyclopedia!
