What first got you interested in your field of choice?

I have always been interested in the science aspects of things, and so when I heard about the BSUITE summer program, I was ready to go and learn something new because I did not know much about the biopharma industry. After spending the summer at KGI learning a lot more than I expected and getting my hands on experience working with JURKAT cells and E.coli, I knew that the technical work is where my passion lies. Although all other programs at KGI all put us in a career that can aid in bettering patients’ lives I know that my role in doing so lies in the technical aspect of it all which is why I chose the Master of Engineering in Biopharmaceutical Processing Program.

What type of obstacles have you had to overcome on the road to getting your education?

Being a first-generation college graduate has made this road a little difficult. There is no rule book for how to tackle higher education and so I went through a lot of trial and error and definitely had a few set backs because of not having a lot of guidance.

How did you know that KGI was the right school for you?

I knew KGI was the right school for me because after just the a few months of BSUITE I had learned so much about biopharma and thought that if this is what they can teach me in two months imagine what I can learn in two years. On top of that, the staff’s passion for passing on their knowledge of biopharma really won me over. All of the staff at KGI has so much experience and knowledge in the industry and they are always so willing to answer any questions and help in whatever way they can.

Why did you want to become an Admissions Ambassador?

I want to be an Admissions Ambassador because I really want to help spread the word about KGI. It really is an amazing school that deserves to be more well-known. They have so many summer programs and degree options that many people can benefit from. KGI is one of the few schools, if not only, that puts so much focus on the biopharma aspect of their degree. They really build us up to be very well prepared to enter the industry after graduation. I just want to help give others the amazing opportunity that I was given when I was introduced to KGI.

What is one fun and interesting fact about you?

I LOOOOOVE wings and boba. I also dabble in the volleyball.
