Tell us about the person you are nominating. Why are you nominating them?

John is a down-to-earth colleague who leaves a personal connection with everybody he interacts with. While he knows how to make anybody laugh (he has the BEST dad jokes), he also gives very insightful advice and has a plethora of information that he loves sharing with others. He is constantly lifting others up, and is hoping to continue to do this in his new position as the Bioprocessing Representative in KGI's Student Government.

Briefly tell us about any contributions that this person has made to the KGI campus and/or the community.

John has recently been inducted as the Bioprocessing Representative in KGI's Student Government. He is also coordinating a committee of MEng students that aims to cultivate relationships between the 1st and 2nd year students. Another goal of the committee is to facilitate activities that connects MEng to the rest of KGI, where their first event is a "Scream on Screen" Outdoor Movie Night on October 23, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. outside of Building 535. On top of those contributions, John is also the Project Coordinator for a 10-person Team Master's Project.

Is there anything else you would like us to highlight about this person (e.g. any fun facts or unique characteristics)?

He has a Master of Science in Microbiology from Colorado State University, and he spent his summer interning in Process Development at Kite Pharma. His nickname is "Grandpa Strom" because he takes care of everyone, and his favorite meal is salad!
