What first got you interested in your field of choice?

I have always been interested in helping patients, and originally thought that meant I needed to go to medical school and be a doctor to do that. The more I thought about what I liked and didn’t I began to understand that you can help patients in many different ways. This led me to look into biotech where companies are focusing on developing and delivering world class research, pharmaceutical products, and medical devices to patients who need it the most.

What type of obstacles have you had to overcome on the road to getting your education?

One obstacle I have had to overcome was trying to determine what I wanted to do. Having such an interdisciplinary degree with a broad range of interest I did not want to limit myself on a specific path before determining it is exactly what I want to do. I overcame this obstacle by taking the leap of faith and coming to KGI where I can combine my knowledge in the sciences with business.

How did you know that KGI was the right school for you?

I knew KGI was the place for me when I gave my first formal presentation. Standing up and talking biotechnology with vocabulary I did not know four months prior, gave me an incredible amount of confidence and joy confirming that I was on the path towards success. Looking back from before I started KGI to now, I feel as if I am a whole new person developing a new set of expertise which I can express and share with all.

Why did you want to become an Admissions Ambassador?

I wanted to become a part of the Ambassador program because I want to share my experience about KGI and give advice to those students just starting. KGI offers so much to so many individuals including networking, information sessions, career services, incredible classes etc. that I hope individuals take advantage of when a part of the community.

What is one fun and interesting fact about you?

One fun fact about me is that until the beginning of quarantine for COVID-19, I was a pescaterian (only eat fish) for the past five years.
