What first got you interested in your field of choice?

I chose to pursue a career in the medical field because I was interested in women’s health before and during pregnancy. One disease I grew interested in learning about is endometriosis and understanding how endometriosis affects women’s reproduction. Studying endometriosis and learning the science behind therapeutic drugs and the human body is fascinating. Additionally, through my experience from volunteering in the maternity department at San Antonio Regional Hospital, I developed a sense of aspiration to continue my career in assisting the mother in bringing new life into the world.

What type of obstacles have you had to overcome on the road to getting your education?

One obstacle I had to overcome to get my education was time management. When I am overwhelmed with assignments and exams, I solely focus on finishing the tasks. However, along the way, I noticed I was making more mistakes which negatively affected the quality of my work. I have learned to take a step back to reorganize my thoughts and determine the most effective way to finish all the tasks without affecting the quality of my work. At KGI, I have learned tremendously how to manage time through the many team projects. Time management has helped me enjoy working on projects with my teams.

How did you know that KGI was the right school for you?

During my fourth year of undergraduate, I was searching for a program to continue my education in science and healthcare. Some of the many reasons I decided to attend KGI were the distance to campus, the inclusivity of professors and students, and the opportunities to learn medicine from a different perspective. KGI was the right school because it offers opportunities to improve my knowledge, presentation skills, and confidence.

Why did you want to become an Admissions Ambassador?

I want to be an ambassador of KGI because I believe that being an ambassador will challenge me to become a leader, boost my confidence, and offer additional opportunities to work with different people. This opportunity to become an ambassador will help me grow my leadership skills and connections. This is an exciting opportunity that I do not want to miss, and I am hopeful that I can represent KGI to grow and strengthen our community.

What is one fun and interesting fact about you?
