What first got you interested in your field of choice?

Growing up, I knew I wanted to be in the healthcare profession. As my grandparents and parents started taking more and more medications, I started getting more curious as to what types of medicine they are and that’s when I knew I wanted to pursue pharmacy.

What type of obstacles have you had to overcome on the road to getting your education?

My parents weren’t born in the United States so the first language I learned was Chinese, then English. I had to first learn English back in kindergarten, and especially with the science stuff, my parents have no idea what is going on so I had to work hard to force myself to understand the material, and then apply it to real life. During COVID, I was facing some major health issues that caused me to not perform as well at school, so then I had to take a break to figure out who I really was, and after discovering KGI, I realized that that’s who I wanted to be.

How did you know that KGI was the right school for you?

The professors and the admissions office were really welcoming, because of this I knew I wanted to come to this school the second I stepped onto campus.

Why did you want to become an Admissions Ambassador?

I want to share my story with others and gauge new students coming to KGI.

What is one fun and interesting fact about you?

Aside from studying for pharmacy school, I also manage the league of the legends varsity team at Irvine Valley College’s esports.
