Dear community,

Student Health Services (SHS) advises persons who recently traveled to or from Wuhan, China  (in the past 14 days) or have had close contact with someone suspected of having an infection with the new coronavirus to watch for flu-like symptoms (fever, muscle or body aches, sore throat and cough, fatigue, headaches).  If experiencing symptoms, you should seek medical care right away.

As a safeguard, Campus Safety developed procedures for officers and dispatchers in the event they receive a call from a possible Coronavirus infected person.  Depending on their situation, the caller may be put into contact with a Student Health Services physician after hours or if severe, LA County EMTs will be dispatched.  Campus Safety officers will follow hazardous materials procedures if responding to a possible Coronavirus infected person.

Student Health Services is working closely with LA County Department of Health to ensure we have the latest information.

Please see attached for more information.
