Dear KGI Students:

As the coronavirus situation unfolds, I am writing with updates on travel advisories and to provide information on health precautions our community can take together. With spring break approaching, it is important to be aware of current U.S. State Department travel advisories regarding the coronavirus.

The situation continues to change and the latest updates can be found on the State Department’s web.

To date, no students, faculty or staff members have been diagnosed with coronavirus at The Claremont Colleges. We all can start to take precautions now. It is also important to work against discrimination and rumors.

Please contact your healthcare provider if you need non-emergency medical assistance, or call 911 for a medical emergency.

For our students, Student Health Services at The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) is providing information about the outbreak, resources and medical assistance. Students can reach the health center at (909) 621-8222, or after hours or weekends, call Campus Safety at (909) 607-2000.

Everyone can take these important additional steps:

  • Avoid contact with others if feeling ill and symptomatic.
  • Do not travel while sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
