Dear KGI Community,

Last Tuesday’s Public Health Order from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health effectively rescinded most restrictions pertaining to COVID-19 in certain settings. These are significant changes for the KGI campus:

  • Face coverings are not required if you are fully vaccinated (fully vaccinated = two weeks after receiving the second vaccine)
  • Face coverings are required for anyone who is not fully vaccinated
  • Physical distancing is not required

KGI remains committed to the health and well-being of all members of the KGI and Claremont communities. We understand that comfort levels will differ for individuals and we ask you to respect that people will have varying degrees of acceptance regarding traditional forms of interaction such as shaking hands. In addition, KGI invites anyone to continue to wear face coverings, regardless of vaccination status, and we expect all members of the KGI community to respect other peoples’ wishes with respect to their personal space and mask-wearing preferences.

KGI is working on a comprehensive policy document to address the new rules. This remains a fluid situation and COVID-19 is still a public health threat.
