Dear KGI Alumni,
During this unprecedented challenge to our health and well-being, KGI and our Office of Alumni Support are here for you. How are you and your loved ones doing? If you need assistance in any way, don’t hesitate to reach out and email me personally at president@kgi.edu.
As you know, KGI’s mission is to enrich society with breakthrough approaches to education and translational research in the life sciences. That mission aligns with the everyday pursuits of our alumni and industry partners, who prioritize patient health as they work tirelessly to advance healthcare through scientific breakthroughs.
I could not be prouder of our alumni who are dedicating time and effort to lessen the impact of COVID-19! Earlier this month, we shared this PDF on LinkedIn to highlight a few of our top employers.
I would love to hear about how you are doing during this challenging time. Take care of yourself and your family. So that we can stay in touch and continue to share opportunities and updates for our alumni, please add your current contact info to this page.
Here are a few more KGI updates that may be of interest:
Wellness@KGI: Virtual Offerings
Three members of the KGI community—Melissa Scott, Beth Walkenbach, and Christy Billock—are graciously offering several wellness activities to our community. The activities are open to The Claremont Colleges and YOU, our alumni!
Career Services
KGI’s Career Services Office offers a number of complimentary services to you and your company. Not only can you browse jobs, but you can also advertise internship and job postings. I encourage you to keep an eye out for internship and job opportunities for our students! Understandably, they are concerned about getting valuable experience during these uncertain times.
You can send internship and job opportunities directly to career_services@kgi.edu or connect with us on Slack in the #careerservices channel.
Department of Education Asks Federal Loan Services to Grant Forbearance
To find out if your interest rate is reduced, contact your loan servicer online or by phone to determine if your loans are eligible. Your servicer is the entity to which you make your monthly payment. If you do not know who your servicer is or how to contact them, visit StudentAid.gov/login or call 1.800.433.3243 (TTY for the deaf or hearing-impaired 1.800.730.8913) for assistance. If you are experiencing financial hardship due to your workplace situation, you will need to discuss options directly with their loan servicer.
