Dear KGI,

As we begin the fall semester, I want to remind you that the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health asks us to continue to limit the number of essential workers and students we have on our campus. We are discouraging students, staff, and faculty from entering campus unless it is essential work that has been arranged and approved by your supervisor or faculty member.

While we remain an open campus for those whose needs require them to use our facilities or IT network, please review the information below regarding our campus entry policies.

KGI Campus Entry Policy Webpage

Specific reminders:

  • Each building entrance has signs which indicate health department guidelines and campus entry requirements
  • Please swipe your KGI keycard when ENTERING and EXITING any building on campus
  • Room reservations are not required; first-come-first-serve (please note that some of the building’s classrooms will be closed)
  • The Café Food Services and Gayle Riggs Student Center will be closed
  • Designated outdoor break spaces to eat:

215 York Patio, 535 Lounge and Patio, KGI Café, Alumni Patio, Oasis Courtyard

  • Students should contact Andrea Mozqueda, Assistant Director, and Disability Services Coordinator (andrea_mozqueda@kgi.edu) if accommodations are needed. Employees should contact hr@kgi.edu
  • It is the responsibility of all faculty, staff, and students to adhere to our temporary campus entrance policies

Your safety continues to be our highest priority. If you have any additional questions, please contact Student Affairs or Human Resources.

Best to all,
Shelly
