This course is offered to MEng students with a background bioprocessing. The course will cover advanced topics in the field of microbial fermentation covering the topics of basic vector design, microbial growth kinetics, engineering principles of fermenters, fermenter scaling, and cultivation strategies. Students will also be introduced to engineering problem solving and critical examination of literature in the field. This will include in class discussions, problem sets based on the principles of the topics covered in the course and exams.
