This is an idea-based course that utilizes both industry and corporate lens to analyze the interaction between strategic entrepreneurship and the capital markets. Throughout this course, we will examine and compare the business models of bioscience companies in a variety of market settings (i.e. market emergence, market creation, market entry and etc). Our focus is on how capital markets affect the business model choices bioscience companies made to seek opportunities and generate competitive advantage.
Mandatory for first year MBS students
Students will learn to:
- develop the perspective of a general manager and identify strategic issues commensurate with this perspective.
- develop diagnostic reasoning skills that help determine appropriate courses of strategic action.
- present strategic arguments in a persuasive manner.
- use professional skills in the areas of teamwork
