Genetic Counseling I and II represent sequential courses which explores core, contemporary, and professional issues in genetic counseling. The focus of Genetic Counseling II is designed to explore the specific aspects of practice that genetic counselors confront in their careers with face-to-face application of knowledge into practice through individual and team-centered case-based learning, with a focus on advanced clinical knowledge and skill development, presentation skills, research preparation, an overview of genetic diagnosis in health care, a review of clinical reasoning in practice, variant analysis and interpretation, utilization of genetic testing, and emerging fields of practice.
