This year-long course focuses on applying the material taught during Capstone I and Capstone II. The background research you conduct about your community during the first semester of this course will be seminal to developing and conducting your own original project during the second semester. The culmination of your work will demonstrate what you have gained from your community engagement experience. You will simultaneously conduct your research in the field and write your final paper throughout the year.
During this semester, after receiving approval from the IRB, you will implement a small-scale version of your intervention and collect data on the results of your intervention. Upon completion, you will analyze the intervention data, report your research findings, and suggest next steps for the implementation of the intervention. The completed final paper will reflect the entirety of the year-long process.
