The application of the concepts of biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics to the processes of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs are discussed with the purpose of assessing drug dosage forms/regimens and improving the therapeutic management of patients. Additionally, the relationship between physiology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and disease state is presented to help explain clinical variability to drug response. (PHAR 318)
