Novel Platforms for the Detection of Multiple Pathogens at the Point-of-Care
Tochukwu Dubem Anyaduba, PhD Student
A critical factor in the detection of multiple pathogens at the point of care without a huge increase in complexity and cost depends on creative solutions to two major challenges attendant to the use of isothermal amplification (especially, loop-mediated isothermal amplification). Controlled delivery of primers would mitigate against the challenge of false priming while spectral sharing would compensate for the physical limitations of amplification tracing. In this presentation, we will review what most researchers have done to circumvent these challenges and what we are currently doing to solve the problems.
