Grant Writing Workshop – Dr. Animesh Ray and Dr. Kiana Aran

Dr. Animesh Ray and Dr. Kiana Aran will be putting on a Grant Writing Workshop on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in the Founder’s Room from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. for MS, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and faculty.

Dr. Ray’s Objectives:

• Why funding agencies fund grants?
• Strategies for getting funded in science research: what works and what doesn’t
• Strategies for tailoring a grant proposal targeting a specific funding agency:
  • NSF/DOE
  • NIH
  • DoD
  • Foundations

Dr. Aran’s Objectives:

• How to define, develop and refine an idea for a grant application
• What are the Scientific and Technical Review Criteria
• Class activity

          Will be more NIH style.
