Join us as Master of Science in Applied Life Sciences student Joshua Littig speaks about nonpharmacological methods of pain management.
“Pain continues to be a vexing issue in healthcare. The conventional methods of drug-based approaches have been inadequate in fully addressing the needs of patients and have contributed to the current opioid crisis in the United States. Evidence-based nonpharmacological practices offer comfort to the patient and reduce dependency on pain medications. This project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of holistic interventions in pain relief through reviewing patients’ medication intake while receiving nonpharmacological comforts.”
