Although new research has fueled cancer breakthrough therapies, our work is far from done. Cancer comes in all shapes, sizes, types, and continues to be a life-threatening burden. To raise funds for cutting-edge research and engage millennials in the fight against cancer, Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) student organizations have partnered with the American Cancer Society (ACS), the nation’s largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research.
Several KGI student organizations (such as KGI Strategy & Consulting Club, Good Games Club, Supply Chain & Operations Club, Beer Club, among several others) are collaborating in order to create a large social networking and fundraising event at La Verne Brewery.
The ACS/KGI ResearcHERS event offers anyone interested in supporting cancer research a unique opportunity to empower historically underserved and under-represented young researchers in STEM at the earliest points in their careers! It also empowers young KGI donors (scientists, pharmacists, aspiring doctors, investors, and entrepreneurs) to give back and honor those touched by cancer in a new way.
The event will be at La Verne Brewing Company on Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. There will be games, music, complimentary dinner, a raffle, and 20% of every beer and craft ale sold at the La Verne Brewery event will be donated directly to cancer research focused grants and education.
Join the KGI ResearcHERS/ACS campaign today and make a difference by helping launch breakthrough research, empower resources for people to outsmart cancer, and enable local communities to support those affected.
