Please join us for our Research Seminar Speaker Series with Andrew Krouse, PhD, Director of Research Hugh Kaul Precision Medicine Institute (PMI), University of Alabama

Biomedical research continues to grow at an increasing rate.  While biology itself is a continuous network of actions and reactions, each publication typically contains the details of an isolated part of the larger story.  The Translator Program, funded by NCATS, is working to connect the isolated knowledge in publications and databases into knowledge graphs.  In doing so, new knowledge can be gained by studying the connections in silico.  At the Precision Medicine Institute, we leverage this to find novel treatments for diseases.  The talk will provide an overview of Translator and highlight PMI’s successes with it.

The user interface that will be public facing is currently under development and is interested in working with translational scientists to inform its design.  Please contact Andy at acrouse@uab.edu if you are open to collaborating on this.
