Want to learn more about sickle cell disease and its impacts on children and their families, or maybe even how to start a foundation for rare diseases? Dreamsickle Kids Foundation was the first sickle cell organization founded in Nevada by our invited speaker, who is both a mother and the executive director.
Join SFR-NORD in inviting Georgene Glass on Friday, February 24, from 12-1 p.m. virtually on Microsoft Teams.
“Our mission is to #MakeSickleCellPopular by increasing awareness, educating, and advocating for long-term changes for the SCD population of Nevada to improve Equity and access to care for those affected by SCD and other Rare Diseases while also addressing health disparities… Being the pioneer of advocacy for this rare disease in Nevada, Dreamsickle Kids has been tasked with bringing more information and awareness to Nevada to ensure that the Silver State accounts for the needs of all of its citizens, including the small Sickle Cell population. With the passing of AB254 this past June, the state is on the path to do just that.“
