All workshop meetings will be held via Zoom on Fridays from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Email Professor Andrew Long for Zoom information. 

Here are the week-by-week session details (subject to change):

  • January 21: Meet and greet and review the workshop series
  • January 28-Feb 4: The Introduction to your thesis.
    • Brief review (Sakai slides)
    • Student examples
  • February 11: The abstract… key elements, precision, and student examples.
    • Brief review (Sakai slides)
    • Student examples
  • February 18: Research techniques (possible Library instruction) and The Methods section of
    your thesis.
    • Brief review (Sakai slides)
    • Student examples
  • February 25: Methods (continued) and the Results section.
  • March 4: The Results section…guest faculty speaker TBA.
  • March 11: Peer review…in preparation for your program presentation and thesis submission.
  • March 18: SPRING BREAK – no workshop this week
  • March 25: Peer review…in preparation for your program presentation and thesis submission.
  • April 1-April 8: Documentation and format review.
    • Brief review of APA format rules: in-text citation
    • Brief review of APA format rules: bibliography and reference list
  • April 15-May 6: Open session and consultation. Possible guest speaker for April 15; “Science
    Writing Today”.
